My 5 Favorite YouTube Workouts

I love YouTube workouts. You don’t need a gym membership and in most cases you don’t need any equipment. I think a lot of us are intimated to workout, because we don’t know what to do. YouTube workouts can expose you to different types of workouts all in the comfort of your home. We should be exercising at least 5 times a week for 30 minutes and doing moderate exercise. Most YouTube videos are shorter, but lately, there have been more 30-minute videos popping up. These are my top workouts that I do as an entire workout or include in my workout routine.

  1. POPSUGAR Fitness- Boxing and Toning

I tweeted my love for this workout a couple of weeks ago. It is a unique workout I have ever done. You know it’s a challenging when the host of the workout mentions how hard it is. That is why I love it, because it is difficult. I feel like Wonder Woman, doing all these kicks and punches. It is 40 minutes and I just do this routine and call it a day. I would not recommend this workout for someone just starting their exercise journey because of its intensity.

  1. Tone It Up- HIT Mashup

The Tone It Up girls were my first YouTube workout. I discovered them senior year in high school and they inspired me to pick a major in the health sciences. This video is not as intense as the first one on this list. I usually do this and then run for 10 mins to get a solid 30-minute workout. I like how it is continuous, one move after another. How can you not be motivated when you see a beach in the background?

  1. Yoga with Adrienne- Strengthen and Lengthen

Adrienne is a Yoga Instructor from Austin, Texas. Her channel is famous for the 30 days of yoga. All of her videos are great for beginners and die hard yogis. This video I like because my body feels lighter after. It’s about 40 minutes, so you can do it as a stand-alone. I enjoy doing toning workouts that can also turn into cardio. Yoga is more than meditating; sometimes it can get your heart rate up like a spin class would. This workout is just that, it gets your heart rate up and your muscles working.

  1. XHIT Daily- Total Arm Workout

This arm workout is why tank tops are made. It is a shorter workout so I typically do it after a run, to get a full body workout. I also think having an instructor with a British accent just makes me want to workout harder. I don’t have much upper body strength and this workout really help define my arms and now I can feel and see that I have biceps muscles.

  1. XHIT Daily- How to get Jennifer Lawrence Legs

Honestly, the title was the reason I chose this video over others on YouTube when I was looking for a leg workout one day. Good marketing XHIT. Again, the British accent makes doing lunges seem like a spot of tea and not agony. I really like this video because the moves target the inner thighs. I haven’t come across a workout that includes the inner thighs before. This is a short video and I prefer to do it after I have worked in some cardio.

Some of these videos do require free weights. Other than that, all you need is an open space and wifi. It is a lot easier than going to a gym. I like taking a spin class, but some days I don’t want to leave my house to workout and I turn to YouTube instead. I prefer the longer videos because I feel I am getting the most out of my workout. I understand we all live busy lives and do whatever you can! Which YouTube workout videos do you like to do?
